Friendships,
Where lifetimes drift by
Like seconds on a timepiece,
And once made promises
Fade into obscurity.
That is the reality
Of so many things,
Where the ones we love
Fade into obscurity,
And we lose ourselves.

And though life moves on
And new faces appear
Those pieces we lost
Shall never return;
Fade into obscurity.

Memento Mori

Death comes for us all,

I face this reality.

In time, I too, shall perish.

From dust to dust;

I return to the earth.

Memento mori,

Remember death,

Your own mortality,

That inevitable march,

On this road we all take.

And I appreciate

The time I yet have

Here six feet above

Of those who have none.

I seek wisdom, on this path

That dwindles to an end.

Though I find woe

In dreams,

That'd take two lifetimes

Just to grasp.

Yet I find serenity

In these words

That in countless forms

Have been told before.

And I shall not waver;

In this ancient wisdom

A truth is told.

Memento mori,

This World of Ours

This world of ours,

It is insane,

This world of ours,

It is sad,

This world of ours,

It is flawed,

This world of ours,

It cannot last,

Not like this.

Back to the Earth

This world—it's a difficult place.

We all have our histories, our pasts.

Mistakes, regrets, memories and the likes.

We all have our futures too,

Some bright, others less so.

But in the end, we end up in the same place

Back to the earth.

Only death is certain in this world of ours.

Not all can experience love,

The warm touch of a companion.

There are so many who don't see two summers.

Only death is guaranteed,

Make what little you are allowed count.

Dare to dream, and reach for the moon;

It could all end so soon.

Uncertainty

In this age of uncertainty

Where tomorrow is a question

Every breath, every second

Live it as your last

For tomorrow is a question

Who knows if, and who knows how

Who knows if the next time

Is the same at all

Or if it will come around
